Why HELLO Week 8 aka 2 months! Whats up with my body this week?
- i'm in a constant battle with mild-moderate constipation. Before getting pregnant, I ate my usual breakfast (All Bran Buds) and I would have a bowel movement faster than you can say Hem-rrhoids. LOL! But now, despite eating the same type of breakfast, I find it a struggle to have a daily bowel movement. Maybe every other day? And even then, it's not coming so smoothly (however, satisfactorily adequate in amounts)!
Fortunately, according to many websites, about 30-40% of pregnant women suffer from constipation. Some contributing factors include Iron in my multivitamin, pressure of my uterus on my rectum, pregnancy hormones (progesterone) slowing food transit in my colon. Anyhow, i'm doing all the right thinks like drinking plenty of water, keeping somewhat active, and eating as much fiber as I can tolerate. I'm not going to push it (no pun intended), I really don't want hemmorhoids! I heard someone women can get grape-like clusters! NASSTTTTYYY!
- still no morning sickness (lucky, I know!) However, i've been closer to puking secondary to noxious fumes, than i've ever been in recent history. I can't remember the exact day this happened, but I walked into the elevator and it wreaked like vinegar. Not wonderful fish and chips vinegar, but vinegar from a spray bottle diluted in water and used to spray or clean up something. Super unpleasant! I've been needing to close my eyes as I breathe in fresh air, and mentally coax myself back to homeostasis. Sometimes it would even take 4 continuous gags or so until I can settle! LOL! But definitely no actual emesis, or regurgitation sensation in my esophageal area!
- no other symptoms out of the ordinary!
What does BabyCenter say?
How your baby's growing:
New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.How your life's changing:
You may notice that your bra is getting more snug. Soon you'll likely need a larger size with better support. Rising levels of hormones cause breast growth and other tissue changes, all in preparation for lactation. Your breasts may continue to grow throughout pregnancy. Don't be surprised if you go up a cup size or two, especially if it's your first baby. Keep this in mind, and allow for room to grow when investing in a new bra.
Feeling fatigued? Hormonal changes — in particular, a dramatic rise in progesterone — may be contributing to your sluggishness. Nausea and vomiting can certainly cost you energy, too. And you may be having trouble getting a good night's sleep at this point, especially if you're uncomfortable or find you need to get up to pee.
